Comments about Altman Inkie Focusing Fresnel - 100 Watts (120VAC):
I bought these lights for animation work. They do exactly what I want. Low watt tungesten lighting that can be adjusted from spot to flood. I Also bought these lights because they were small. I plan on taking these with me in a trunk that I am setting up for on the go animation work, so they needed to be compact.
The only real downside about this product are two things. First, the mount: It's a screw mount so not made for light stands, which is why I bought the clamp attachment. You just need to know how to make that work for you.
Second, the spot/flood mechanism: is somewhat flimsy, too small, and place precariously on the underbelly. The mechanism is just a wing nut on a screww attached the light sockect itself, so adjustment are done physically by moving it forward are back. This would be fine but it sticks so you almost have to open the light fixture and grab onto it from the inside to make it work.
Now there is a third, but it isn't about the product itself. I thought when I bought it it would come with a bulb and I bought more bulbs as extras. Turns out the "extra" bulbs are the only bulbs I would get. Just something to be aware of.
