The Altman 1000Q Follow Spot is a ruggedly constructed medium-throw 1000 watt theatre fixture. The 1000Q produces a narrow, hard or soft edged beam. With easy to use controls mounted at the rear of the fixture, the beam can be adjusted from spot to flood at any distance. The beam may be further attenuated by using the integral iris for spot size adjustment and the framing shutters for top and bottom edge framing in the flood focus position. The 1000Q can be used in any application where manual control of a lighting beam is required to follow a performer and to vary beam size, quality and color.
At tightest spot (with Iris), it throws a beam of light 40 footcandles 2 feet in diameter from 100 feet.
At full flood, it throws a beam 22 footcandles 25 feet in diameter from 100 feet.

Comments about Altman Follow Spot with Stand, 1000 Watts (110-120VAC):
This could be an outstanding item but the people behind it have quit trying. [...]. The base on the stand was improperly threaded and will only work when inverted. The color changer is too big and blocks part of the beam when the iris is closed down. All of these things appear to be caused by human carelessness. I have tried to work with Altman support to resolve the color changer issue but they will ask for information on the phone and then not reply to my emails when I send the requested info. I could return the item but it would cost hundreds of dollars to ship. In summary, the support team at Altman turn a 5 star product into a 1 star product.

Comments about Altman Follow Spot with Stand, 1000 Watts (110-120VAC):
I bought this for use as a follow spot for concerts and plays. There was a plastic "safety" knob on the base that broke the first day and the unit is fairly noisy. Other than that, it is easy to operate and does what it is supposed to do.
