Photoflex MultiDisc Circular Reflector, 5 Surfaces, 42" (107cm)
This is a Photoflex 42" (107cm), 5 Surfaces MultiDisc collapsible reflector. Photoflex LiteDiscs and MultiDiscs are designed for use in the studio, or on location. They add light to shadow areas, add or subtract color casts, or diffuse harsh light.
LiteDiscs come in a variety of sizes: 12, 22, 32, 42, 52" circular, and 41 x 74" Oval.
MultiDiscs are available in 22, 32 and 42" circular sizes. MultiDiscs start as a White Translucent disc, with a reversible slipcover that provides white, silver, gold and soft gold surfaces.
Pick the size that is right for the size of your subject. Pick the color combination that is right for the ambient light, or your creative direction.
Each MultiDisc has a sturdy spring-steel frame that is covered by a heavy duty white fabric. With a twist of both wrists (and a little practice), they collapse to 1/3 their open sizes. Each comes with a nylon storage bag.
Insure consistency and ease of placement by ordering a LiteDisc Holder. The holder, combined with a light stand, acts as a second pair of hands, locking the disc in the exact desired position. The holder also helps your assistant hold the disc flat and steady, especially in outdoor breezes.

- White Opaque - Produces an even, neutral-colored bounce light that works beautifully as a fill light source for both product shots and indoor/outdoor portraits
- Silver - Silver increases the specular highlights and yields a high-contrast, neutral to cool fill, depending on your main light source
- Gold - Same as silver, but with a warm tone -- best used outdoors near sunrise or sunset
- Soft Gold - Combination of gold and silver in a zebra pattern, with a semi-matte surface -- best for all-round fill
- White Translucent - Softens harsh light sources, may also be used as a reflector
- Black - Subtracts reflected light and color casts from intense backgrounds

The MultiDisc has the best surfaces of any reflector I've used and the finish is brilliant. The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is I'd prefer the Silver and White/Gold and Soft Gold to be paired, not the other way around as it is.

The 5-in-1 reflector is easy to use and changing sides gives you so many other option. Keeping it is as easy as twisting it into a smaller circle and it takes only 2 seconds of your time! The built is also brilliant and will last me a long time to come! Recommended!

This is my first reflector. Since I didn't have any before, having this 5-1 is great. If you own a car windshield sunblocker, this reflector folds together like it. It's a matter of twisting it in a certain way. My friend took 5 minutes to fold it together for the first time. But now, she does it with ease. I like the pouch that it comes with.
Only issue I see with this is the gold/silver side looks like it could easily flake off. I think after folding it after so many times it may flake off. Or I'm afraid that if the zipper snags the reflector, it would flake off the gold/silver.
Other than that, I like that it's 5-1 and portable for such a large size.

Perhaps the most important lighting tool in your lighting kit. I find the MultiDisc to be extremely useful, a must have on my shoots. There is hardly a day when we don't need to add or subtract light either to a clients face or to a scene. The MultiDisc is fantastic because it's compact, folds up to nothing and has several reflective surfaces as well as a subtractive feature.
