Not recommended for use with the MiniTT1/FlexTT5. Use the CM-N3-ACC version instead.
The CM-N3-P Pocket Wizard Remote Cable contains a pre-trigger switch that when enabled, the camera behaves as if the camera's shutter release button were held half-pressed continuously. This makes the camera respond more quickly and consistently, but also consumes the camera's batteries much more quickly. When disabled, this cable functions identically to the CM-N3. Connect the CM-N3-P to your camera's remote cable socket, and enable your Pocket Wizard radio slave SET to trigger the camera's shutter remotely.
Compatible with cameras using Canon's N3 Remote Terminal including:

I use a Canon 5D along with pocket wizards and this Pre-trigger cord as a remote setup for some of my assignments. It allows me the angles I wouldn't be able to shoot myself.
With this cord I can trigger the remote camera on it's own. Alternatively by shooting with a wizard on top of my main body I can sync all the cameras for some setups. Providing multiple angles and helping me with the workload for heavy assignments.
I love the fact that it is small enough to simply keep in your bag in case you run into something unplanned that you might want to provide a different angle on.
The only down side is the battery drain. I keep the LCD display switched off on the remote camera to avoid unnecessary battery drain. Although I must add that I've never had a camera die on me yet.
Many photographers will undoubtedly buy this item by default due to the type of work they do and what images they want to capture. But I also highly recommend this for shooters that might not always think of setting up a remote camera but already own Pocket Wizards. It's affordable and will keep you thinking of new uncharted angles for the work you already do.

It does what it says it will do...plug this into your camera and pocket wizards and you can shoot remotely. Warning: Be careful when removing the cord from your camera as it is an extremely tight fit. So tight you will think you are going to break either the cord or the camera. Don't know why it's so tight, but it is.

This cord attaches firmly to my camera. I used it for a remote camera set up and I did not want it to become disconnected from the camera halfway through the shoot. It works great. This is not an everyday item, but it is great to have around when you need it.

Already had PW's so this was the obvious choice when considering a remote trigger!

Cable is solid and well built. With the switch on, it fires immediately. With the switch off, it seems to need several pushes of my remote device. I think one locks auto focus and then one for fire. Actually, I am quite certain of this as turning off AF on the lens produces instant fire. Again this does the job!

This [$] cable will not work with the new Flex TT5. Don't waste your money. If you are using the Flex TT5 you need the CM-N3-ACC. I got this information direct from PocketWizard.

Cord worked perfectly with the Mark III and Mark II cameras that we were using as remotes during the NBA Western Conference Finals. Easy to use, simple to install and effective.

I was looking for a motor trigger for my Canon 1D MK II. This product works exactly as advertised. The pre-trigger function adds speed to the ability to fire the camera.

Very spendy but I trust the Pocket Wizard products to work every time. Switch allows for pre-trigger or normal trigger shutter release.

My local Canadian dealer did not have the PocketWizard pre-trigger cord... He told me Icould save money by ordering directly from B&H, which I did !!! A week later, I was able to remotely control my camera and produce to most amazing shots I ever did, thanks to the remote capabilities of PocketWizard !!
I don't need flaky 50 feet extensions anymore to trigger my camera thanks to the right pre-trigger cable and a couple of PocketWizards... Thanks B&H !!!! :-)

Using in studio for portraits to fire a 1D-MkII with a PocketWizard. Inline switch allows camera to be "always on" - pretty essential, I think, to reduce (eliminate?) lag time between pressing PW trigger and shutter activation. Otherwise, camera does all of it's pre-exposure gymnastics before capturing image. Only useage problem is minor: the connector to the camera is mighty snug - good that it won't fall out, but care is needed when inserting and removing. Expensive for a few ounces of plastic and vinyl, but what other choice have we?

I am using this to take posed studio photos indoor
It triggers the camera with two PocketWizzards
It is hard to figure out how to synch the shutter with the flashes on other pocket wizzards (still researching)
