The Tamrac 5273 Expedition 3 Backpack (Green) is a compact photo backpack that provides foam-padded protection and quick access to a digital or film SLR camera body with a lens up to 7" attached, 3-4 additional lenses, flash and accessories. The pack is fully padded with thick, closed-cell foam. A cinch strap keeps the camera in place while a large rain flap protects the main compartment zippers. It has a QuickClip tripod attachment system with vinyl reinforced mesh pocket, and a front accessory pocket with the Memory & Battery Management System that uses red flags to identify which memory cards and batteries are available and which ones are used up.
The 5273 has the EasyGrip handle, inner Windowpane-Mesh accessory pockets, and padded backpack harness. The bag can be fully customized using the M.A.S. Modular Accessory System and S.A.S. Strap Accessory System products.

Potential buyers who wish a compact backpack move up to the next size made by Tamrac. This is a "very" compact backpack. It is similar to a fannypack on your back.Good for one compact SLR or DSLR(very compact). No battery packs or motor drives attached here. One lens on body and one on side...and maybe throw in a flash.....thats it.As far as quality,Tamrac can't be beat. Will stand up for years.Very attractive in the green color.Just a little too compact for me.Word to the potential buyer....move up.Too much space is better than not enough.

I love having a backpack style camera bag! It makes moving your gear so musch easier! There are all sorts of pockets and hooks and loops to attach all your other stuff to, ie; tripod. The only thing I don't like about it is the fact that I was expecting it to be a little larger, shopping online it's hard to tell sometimes, but it does hold all of what I need it to, for now!

I needed a new pack to carry my equipment on the airline and this held all of it. It is very compact, and holds everything I need. I love it!

Comments about Tamrac 5273 Expedition 3 Backpack (Green):
I use this for storage of my camera, since I do alot of photography when on expeditions. This is wonderful for the purpose I use it for - if you need something to get an immediate photo, I would not recommend this because it is not easily ready. Otherwise, it's wonderful that I don't have to worry about breaking my camera while hiking.

This is really well made, very sturdy. The size is perfect for a small camera and accessories. There are plenty of pockets for small items as well as the main ones. The design is made to be rain resistant by having the zippers down inside instead of right on the surface.
It is small; they make larger size, like the 4, 5, 6, 7, etc., if needed. Tamrac is a good company; I will buy their products again for sure. They also make computer cases.

Comments about Tamrac 5273 Expedition 3 Backpack (Green):
I use this for Day hiking trips. I really can't say anything good about it. They claim it will hold a DSLR camera and several lens. Simply untrue. I have a Canon XTI, one 18-55 lens, and one Sigma 70-200 lens. They will hold them with no problem. My biggest gripe is that it is not really deep enough to have a battery pack attached to the camera. Whats the use in not having it on the camera when you need it? This pack is just to small for any DSLR camera unless you only take the BARE essentials. I am realatively new to photography and I am looking for another bag already.
