Unlike others, once I had it attached to the belt properly, I found it secure and did not slip around.
I can wear it relatively comfortably considering the weight that is supports from the belt.
Good insurance from having my pants pulled down by the belt and pouches as they work their way down.
I also find it easier to put the belt on with the harness than without.

I can't figure out how to attach the darn thing. I looked and looked for instructions but there aren't any. It wasn't until I read the rest of the reviews that I realized that every one has the same reaction. I bought this because the belt, with 3 lens cases, a filter case and water bottle put a lot of strain on your hips. I thought a shoulder harness would help. However, this is so klugy that Tamrac ought to be ashamed of themselves for making anything so bad.

I purchased this to help support my Tamrac MAS belt. There are many problems with this harness -
- clumsy attachment method for belt
- straps too short for longer torso
- no tabs on shoulder harness to accept small cases
The only reason I am not returning it is that it can be separated to create two camera straps with quick-release snaps.
This is an embarrassing product for Tamrac to release.

The belt itself is very good. It large(52") padded, and is very comp\fortable to wear when you have a little load. However with 3 or 4 lenses attached it becomes unmanageable. AND I could not figure out how to attache the harness set I bought. There were no instruction that came with it, nor were there any on the web site. SO I have not been able to use it.
I would not recommend this to anyone.

I was looking to add suspenders/straps to my photo equipment belt. Specifically, I wanted to be able to attach some SAS items to the straps.
Unfortunately, the shoulder pads on the straps are free floating, so a SAS attachment ends up sliding around on your body and ultimately lands either in front or in back of you. Also, the way this strap attaches to the bet I have was kind of a kluge. I think it would be most useful for a person that was going to put a belt configuration together and never change it. Then you could affix the strap attachments to the belt (tape etc.).
The straps on this have large loops that slide over the belt - nothing on the belt or the strap loops to keep them in position. If you have a small kit with only a few belt accessories, the strap loops end up next to each other and then support is then limited. If you take you belt off and put it on often, the loops on the shoulder straps like to become tangled (unless you put tape or some other more permanent retainer on the strap loops).
I cant give the item 2 stars simply because it didn't fit my specific needs - its a good suspender system if your belt is full and you need support for the weight of your gear.

Usefull when loading down the modular belt with extra weight. Reason for the two stars. . . the front two loops constantly fall off the belt when trying to put everything on. Should be a positive way to fasten the straps to the belt. Very usefull for attaching accessory pouches to the strap. Card holders, gps etc. . .
