Pelican 1610 Case with Foam (Black)
The Pelican 1610 Case with Foam (Black) is an unbreakable, watertight, airtight, dustproof, chemical resistant and corrosion proof hard case used to carry any kind of equipment. It is made of ultra-high impact structural copolymer that makes it extremely strong and durable. It has a 0.25" (6.4 mm) neoprene o-ring, 4 easy-open double throw latches that seal perfectly. It has a built-in automatic pressure equalization valve for changes in altitude or temperature. The case uses stainless steel hardware and has padlock protectors to provide added strength and extra security against cutting and theft. It is carried by 3 comfortable rubber over-molded haul handles, a retractable handle and built-in wheels.

I saw a photo of the Celestron CGEM telescope mount placed inside a 1610 (found on [@]) so I knew it would fit. I found that the 8 inch OTA (telescope optics) was a tight fit so I ordered the Pelican 1620 for that. The 1620 is identical to the 1610 except it is one layer of foam (6 cm) deeper. The latches aren't overly tight like the ones on my Pelican 1200 which I bought for the 17 pound counterweight that comes with the telescope. Finally I bought a Pelican 1470 to hold all my eyepieces and accessories.

I love this case, with the custom pick n pluck foam you can make sure whatever you put inside is snug and safe. I am confident that my camera is protected while travelling and those bangs and bumps to case strong case mean nothing to my gear inside.
If you are going to invest thousands into gear you might as well have the best protection for it.

I travel for work and I have used a 1610 pelican case for about 7 years. I had no problems for the first 6, but had a wheel lock up. Pelican replaced the parts with no hassle - Awesome Customer Service. I estimate that case has traveled close to 200,000 miles; I'm confident that it will have no trouble weathering 200,000 more.

This case is ready for almost anything you could ask it, I am using it to put my Arri 1K in it with scrim and Barndoors... the new latches are great and easy to open while maintaining the case securely closed... I loooove it.. And it looks great..

I purchased this for my Panasonic HMC150 and all of its related accessories. The camera fits perfectly snug as does all my accessories. I can pluck the foam in neat organized squares and my batteries, cables, etc all fit within neat organized patterns that make retrieving items seemless. I highly recommend this case for any film, video, photography, or anyone with expensive equipment and in need of a large case.

This case is big enough for what I need. However once it is full of all my equipment, it is rather heavy and large making it somewhat difficult to move around and carry, especially up stairs. Also, the pull out handle to use with the wheels seems a little flimsy. Provides great protection.

I have used many Pelican cases over the years and this one is no exception to the rule... these cases are the best.
I have this one in use as video camera kit. It contains my Canon XH A1s, batteries, chargers, video and audio cables, cleaning supplies, and the manual. The foam is great at maintaining it's shape even after pulling out large pieces.
My only complaint is that the bottom of the case is not completely lined because of the wheels and recessed features. So, removing certain pieces of foam leaves you with a void where smaller items can get lost. Just plan ahead in your plucking.

I am a semi-pro photographer shooting weddings, seniors, and sports. While we seldom take the case when we are shooting sports as we only need a body and one lens,we always take it when shooting weddings and seniors. The caes is heavy with all the gear in it, but I only have to lift it into the Jeep and then out at location etc and I am a big ole boy as they say around here.
