This thing can hold a lot of gear. The pockets are deep enough to fit the 70-200 vertically. It would be nice if there was some way of dividing the vertical space though. But all in all, this thing will keep a lot of stuff safe.

Use this for storage of my complete outfit, less light stands. Holds the following: 7d, 5d gripped, 28-70, 70-200 II, 400 5.6, 500 f/4, 580exII/430exII, and all the cargers and batteries and misc. items. Should come standard with the foam and bag top. Order the top when you order the case and save yourself the trouble. Well built and solid feel to it.

I am a movie stills photographer
This case holds my jacobson blimp, 2 lens tubes,
2 camera bodies, 70-200 mm, 24-70mm and some primes as well as light meter, filters and other small stuff. It was actually smaller than I expected but holds all I need in one tight package. The pull out handle seems to be the only weak point (kind of wiggles a bit) but only time will tell if this is true or not.

I use this as a case for my underwater housing and accessories, and it works wonderfully. Super sturdy, and the customizable padded dividers are the way to go for me. I'd definitely recommend this case for anyone on the fence about it.

It's functional mainly because of its depth (you can keep a matte box vertical and save a lot of space) and tough as any Pelican. Wheels are very helpful for a case of this size as well as smaller side handles.

I use this Pelican as a local travel lighting kit for Speedlights, stands, mods, grip stuff, etc. I can fit 4 SB800's, 2-4 PW's, 2 Wescott umbrellas, 4x8sheet rip stop diffusion cloth, 24" 4-Square soft box, reflector, 3 Manfrotto speedlight stands w/knuckles, Speedlight gel kit, Magic Arm, Super Clamp, Justin Clamp, 1-2 Boa 10 lb shot bags, cables, batteries, and I still have room. Bomb proof, rolling, it's great!
I store all my Speedlight accessories in this case and now know where everything is, which is not something I could have said before buying. Only knock is it's a little heavy, but it rolls. If I don't need everything for a given shoot, I pick the gear I need and put in a smaller case.

I use this case to protect my equipment when en-route to a location. I do wish that the foam padding was color other than black as it can be difficult to find small times that may be "hiding" at the bottom of the case. Also, I wish there was an integrated means of protecting a laptop computer.

Overall I think the Pelican 1614 is an excellent case for protecting my photography equipment. I'm sure I'll be adding another to protect my lighting equipment.

Only negative comment is that I would have liked more options for configuring my gear. All the small dividers are one size. (2) medium sized dividers would have been more versatile. I had some from other gear so I was able to configure case to meet my needs; otherwise, there is in my opionion some negative space. Look closely at pictures provided. Only really set up for (1) large dslr. I did fit two in my set up. Pelican makes amazing cases. Highly recommend. Just really know what size you want & what you need to put in it before choosing what style you get[...]. Just in case you don't get it right the first time. Found the right Pelican model on the 3rd try:-)

I use this case to hold all the parts that I need for astrophotography using a fairly large portable telescope. This includes a variety of eyepieces and other optical equipment. This is a highly customizable case that cradles the delicate equipment even while being wheeled across potentially rough terrain in the dark. I really like this case and highly recommend it.

I like this case a lot. At first it was a little bigger then I was expecting. But I quickly got used to is and have found it very nice to have the extra room! In the case I can very comfortably fit all my necessary video gear.

It's quick and easy to reconfigure to accommodate different gear for different shoots.

But I love having one central place to keep all my equipment in on a shoot. Vs. having it spread all over the place.

Case is very tough and strong! And looks and feels great!

It's heavy but I don't mind. After all it's much lighter than carrying around my older brother's amplifiers.

I use this case a general storage transportation for my photo equipment. It's extremely rigid and well made, water sealed and has a pressure release on it. With its wheels and handle, it is very easy to move even when fully loaded. The padded dividers are very well made and very versatile in arrangement possibilities. If this is the size you need, You can't go wrong with the Pelican 1610

Don't know why I waited so long to get this case. It holds my "lightweight" location lighting kit: 2 x Lumedyne packs, batteries, and heads, 2 x SB-800's, 2 x nano stands, grip gear, Pocket Wizards, compact umbrella's. It's great to have it all in one case that rolls. Built like a tank.

It was just what I was looking for. Much better the carrying all of my gear in a backpack. Now I can wheel it to work and my back doesn't hurt before I start working.

This was my first Pelican case and I'm very happy I got it. I purchased it in anticipation for traveling a lot with my HDSLR video gear. I was a little unsure if it would fit everything but I was easily able to fit 2 7D bodies, 5 lenses, a full Redrock shoulder rig, tools and several other accessories. I liked having 4 latches for added security. It would be a great addition if the lid would fold down flat. A surface to assemble camera gear would be helpful.

I use this case for my Elinchrom Ranger RX As. It is far more convenient and easier to transport than the Elinchrom case. I pack the Ranger unit, 2 x baterries, head, reflectors, grids etc and off I go to my shoot - no hassle.

I needed a powerful storage option for my Elinchrome lighting kits. I wanted to be sure my lights would be safe as I transport them from place to place. This Pelican case is like a portable vault for my valubles, they are just as safe sitting in my office as they are in this case. I store 3 Mono lights, a Quantum flash, all wires and reflectors, and still have top room to spare. Easy to carry and handle and a great roller. This pelican case will be with me through my retirement and I am no where near to that time. Powerful, strong, secure means peace of mind.
