It is what it is- A big roll of gaffers tape. If you've never seen it, it's like Duct tape but you can tear it easily and peel it off of surfaces without removing the paint or leaving behind a sticky mess. It also is a nice flat black that wont add any reflections in your photos.
I even use it to attach color gels to my flash head. It stays taped onto the flash for years at a time- if I want to remove it, presto it's gone and no goop to ruin an otherwise nice flash. I also use small pieces to cover the Nikon logos on my camera bodies. Comes right off when it's time to upgrade!
I did an outdoor shoot for this company that uses Duct tape for various purposes. We used a piece on a concrete sidewalk to mark the spot for our subject to stand on- well the next YEAR we came back to do the same shoot and the Duct tape was still there- it survived a whole Northwest winter!
Another time we did a shoot inside a brand new remodeled nightclub. Again the company used Duct tape to hold the floor of our set in place. When we left, the tape pulled the paint right off the floor. We didn't stick around but I'll bet the owner will not be inviting us back!
Lesson learned: don't be like this company. Use what I, and the other real pros use: Gaffer tape.

This tape was purchased becasue we frequently do event photography, and there's always a need to tape down cords, etc. This product serves that purpose well! It securely attaches to cords, light stands, back drop stands, painted surfaces, etc. When the function is over, it eaisly peels away without leaving residue, pulling off paint, etc.

This roll is amazing. Its sticks cables to the floor and fixes a broken bracket in a pinch. It has a small roll hole, so it fits better for transport. If the Titanic had this roll, perhaps James Cameron would have less cash for Avatar....dang.

I use it for any and everything. From taping down cables to attaching stuff to walls or "fixing" broken equipment.Right off the bat it looks like normal gaff tape but, once you pull some strips off you'll see the adhesive doesn't feel or look all too tacky. Surprisingly enough it holds well to smooth concrete in high humidity (used it in an open air venue in the middle of summer). All in all it's alright, I wouldn't trust my life with it. I think it should be a bit cheaper, say 8 bucks instead of [$] but, I understand that there is a lot more expensive gaff out there so it's still a good buy.

I bought it to repair some rips in a leather couch that duct tape couldn't handle. I thought the gaffer tape would be much stickier than it is, however, it is just barely holding while coming up at the edges. The color is a pretty good match at least.
