I love this lens. Of corse it was a bit expensive, but over time, its worth it.

Expect alot of distortion. I like this, because i used this lens to film skateboarding, and local bands.

its CRAZY how wide this lens is. it can see my shotgun when its mounted on my camera.

This lens feels super sturdy, and does not wobble on my camera at all.

my only problem is that is has uneven vignetting on only one side of my camera. You also cant zoom in too much without focusing becoming hopeless. but thats only because the lens is soooo wide.

I recently bought this lens for my panasonic hi-def cam and it works perfectly. This lens is what most people know as the "Baby Death" lens, and it lives up to it's name perfectly. I can get right in front of the skateboarding action and get it all up close just like a professional fisheye lens should.

I bought a small camera (Panny HDC-SD9) and was worried i would be worrying about shooting close up. Then i found this lens. Now i have a camera that I can get real close up with and still get the shots that I want. And it all fits in my pocket. No vingetting, and the lens isnt too big but still gets a really wide shot.

I use the century .3x ultra fish-eye on SONY HDR-CX11 to shooting skateboarding video. It's fit for 16:9 picture without cut corners.

Absolutely amazing product. I film skateboarding, and this is possibly the greatest consumer/professional product available! It has great distortion (not bad, good), has no vignetting showing, and just is the best. If you want more distortion, you have to buy spacer rings, which is what I'm going to do.

If you want a great fisheye lens, BUY THIS BABY DEATH LENS!

I am a Surf film maker who has filmed the best surfers in the world for close to a decade. I use this lens to capture the best inside the tube footage possible. It also works well for close up lifestyles and skateboarding which I shoot on occasion. I have used a couple other fish eye lenses (Digital Optics, Raynox) and they pale in comparison. Spend the extra cash and get the Century. You will be glad you did!

Agree with all the other reviews, it's the best small fisheye! BUT, the shade and hood (don't want to call it) "construction" really is a joke. It's made out of a very low quality rubber that stretches and therefore falls off easily. I lost mine shooting climbing and bouldering the second time I used it. Since there is no replacement, that's a major bummer!

the fisheye itself is magnificent however it comes with a rubber attachment which cuts out on your footage (you can remove it though). The only other problem i found is that its almost too "fisheyed" because compared to my old one I have to get much much closer to the action, but nonetheless good fisheye for filming skating.

i use the century .3x ultra fish-eye lens on my panasonic hdc-sd5 and its such a great fit. i have to admit i felt a little like cupid when i first screwed them together. like it was meant to be.

I use this fisheye to film skateboarding and the results arebrilliant, it is very wide making it easier to get in close,it creates very little vignetting on the camera i use(gs150) and it is also selling at a great price the onlydownfalls of this lens is that the front rubber cap restson the front of the glass, after time the glass begins toblemish, also the rubber sun shade gets in picture whilerecording unless placed perfectly straight on the lens, thisis a hassle when in a hurry, i leave mine off and put itback on when i put it away. that way i dont have to worryabout it being straight or not.

Expertise: The kid who films the hams in Adelaide

Problems Encountered: The only reason i have given 4 stars for features and designis because they should have made it so the front cap wassolid so it could flex onto the lens and that the sunshadewas mounted onto the front like the full sized mkii.

I purchased this fisheye about 9 months ago. the main reason of this was to use for skateboarding. this fisheye is amazing. i use it with my A1U, and it is just perfect and phenomenal. i suggest if you have a small camera that you buy this fisheye, it really blows others away.
