Pelican 1490CC1 Computer Case with Lid Organizer and Tray (Black)
The 1490CC1 Computer Case with Lid Organizer and Shock Absorbing Tray (Black) is a watertight, dustproof and corrosion proof case with a slim attache design. It is designed to carry a laptop computer with a screen up to 15" and accessories. The case has a built-in purge valve for changes in altitude or temperature and locking latches with keys. It is carried by a padded folding handle and a removable, shoulder strap.
This case has a shock absorbing tray and computer lid organizer included.

Very sturdy case for taking your laptop on location. I converted mine to fit a 17" Macbook Pro with a razor blade and hot glue. My laptops will never get dented corners again. Only downside is that the case and computer together are a bit heavy. I recommend this case for photographers!

I use this case for air travel for my 14" laptop, It's okay, and overall I am very happy with the unit. It's a bit on the heavy side.
Locking latches are good enough quality and the case is very rugged looking.
I'm sure I won't be having any problems.
If given the same opportunity to purchase again I would seriously look at carbon fibre alternatives.

I'm a commercial photographer that does a lot of location work, and was looking for a laptop case for this purpose. After watching Chase Jarvis' laptop case video (see youtube!), I was inspired to replicate his solution which is based on the 1490 CC1 case. I certainly wasn't disappointed. I can fit a 15" MacBook Pro, with two LaCie Rugged Hard drives stored underneath the laptop, and have room for a spare battery, power adapter, card reader and more stored in the top flap. Highly recommended for those that travel off the beaten track and need to pack a laptop.

The case works great for my HP notebook. I turned the computer tray around and made a small cut out so I can access the USB ports and card slot. With an external hard drive and a card reader held in the lid organizer and a broadband card, I don't have to take the computer out of the case to use it in the field. I can photograph, download to the computer and review the images in the field with a client. The case is as sturdy as they come.
