Found the ring does not fit the Celestron Omni XL 127 tube, but made it work using painter's tape to hold it securely in place on the OTA. The filter works as advertised, allowing me to capture video of sunspots. My first time out, an unexpected bonus was a look at a planet as it approached the limb I was capturing. Did not see the faint dot in the sun's glare until I later processed, stacked and enhanced the frames. Checked the location of the dot on the star charts and lo' and behold it was Uranus! Looking forward to using this on a regular basis.

This filter will allow you to see the sun with your scope, instad of buying a solar scope that costs 10x times more.
you put the filter infront of your scope, where you put your cap on, and then all you have to do is wait for the sunrise.
once you will look at the sun you will need to use an orange filter to make the sun look more realistic.
you can do this by buying an orange filter or combine a red and a yellow filter.
you will be able to see the sun and her sunspots, dont expect more then this.
ths filter sits quite well on your scope and will not fall down.
also, it will let you to see eclips when they occour.
i gave this filter only 4 stars for some resons:
1. it will only show you the sun as a blank circle with sun spots, nothing more.
2. the filter holder is made of plastic, not aluminium
3. the filter is glued to the plastic, what makes me afraid that if the glue will melt, the filter will fall off.

in conclusion:
exellent piece of filter, lets you use the telescope durning the day, just dont expect to much of it, and dont forget to get an orange filter!
