Comments about Bergger VC-CM Warm Tone Black & White Variable Contrast Fiber Base Double Weight Paper -20x24" (Semi-Matte) (25 Sheets):
From experience, I've learned that this paper gives me the very best results for almost all of my gelatin silver print work. Buyers, gallery owners and other photographers are always asking me about this paper when they see images that I've made with the warm tone matte. It is an excellent choice for portrait work, landscapes and still life images. I have gotten some fantastic results printing some flower images during the past few weeks.
Tonal range is excellent. The warmth of the tones is such that additional toning is usually not necessary.
This paper takes from 2 to 3 times the exposure time for a given negative relative to other papers I've used. It also darkens more than other papers when it dries out. I would definitely recommend using a hair drying to check exposure levels.
This is one of those products that if it was announced that it was not going to be made any more, I'd try to buy a lifetime supply
