Ultratelephoto photography is easily achieved with your Meade ETX spotting scope or telescope by purchasing this SLR camera adapter. You'll need to take precautions to minimize vibrations, such as locking up the camera's mirror if possible as well as using a cable release or remote control to fire the shutter.
This adapter has two parts; a threading and an extension tube. The combination is screwed on to the ETX-90/105/125 Maksutov-Cassegrain telescopes' rear cell threading, making the ETX-90 a 1450mm f/16.0, the ETX-105 an 1830mm f/17.4, nad the ETX-125 a 2130mm f/18.0 prime lens.
With APS-C style digital SLRs, it is possible to use this adapter without the vignetting-eliminating extension tube. You still may experience some minor vignetting, but you'll get a shorter and faster lens combination (ETX-90=1250mm f/13.8, ETX-105=1640mm f/15.6, & ETX-125=1900mm f/15.0).
Note! Your camera will need to be in fully manual exposure mode, although some brands of camera may also work in aperture-priority autoexposure mode. Additionally, if there is a switch on the camera which chooses the focus mode, that switch must indicate manual focusing.

This is well made but did not fit the scope that I have so I did not get a chance to try it on a sope.

Comments about Meade SLR Camera Adapter:
I'm a semiprofessional photographer, new to astrophotography. I had a good sense how to use the product, which is good because there were no instructions whatsoever included with the package. Would have been nice to have some documentation on using the adapter... there's more than one way to use it.

Comments about Meade SLR Camera Adapter:
Fit my Parks Jovian 90 perfectly, but a bit tricky to get on and off without lubrication. Added a tiny amount of electrical grease (pure silicone lubricant) and much easier to get on and off with no worries about being getting stuck. Took off the extension for use with my scope. Mated with a Canon ring and got great photos. Be sure the ring you buy has a proper alignment key slot fit.

Comments about Meade SLR Camera Adapter:
This is essential if you have a Meade ETX telescope and wish to start trying a little astrophotography. It comes in two pieces, and you can use either one of them or both in combination, depending of what you want to see in your frame. It's easy to use, durable and took me literally seconds to mount. You'll also need a T-Mount for your SLR camera of choice, in my case a Nikon.

Comments about Meade SLR Camera Adapter:
Used the adapter and the "T-MOUNT for NIKON" to attach my D90 to a Meade 125 etx. I haven't actually taken pictures using it. But the connection was solid.

Comments about Meade SLR Camera Adapter:
As expected from any Meade product, this SLR adapter has excellent craftmanship, rendering as a "must-have" for SLR astrophotograpy enthusiasts.
Perhaps the only objection I find is that one must find a felt or other type of soft material to store it and avoid scratches on it.

This and the camera T mount are required for Astrophotography. It is easy to assemble and use.
