Meade #608 Dew Shield for the Meade 7.0" and 8.0" Schmidt-Cassegrain or Maksutov-Cassegrain Telescopes
In moist climates, water particles suspended in the atmosphere may condense on the front surface of the telescope's correcting plate. This dew formation may be inhibited to a significant extent by the addition of this dew shield, an extension tube attaching to the front cell of the telescope.
The weight of the dew shield unbalances the telescope and may damage the motor. The optionial Meade tube balance weight system with 3 different weights will correct the weight distribution and is highly recommended.

I bought the Meade dew shield because I wanted a perfect match to my new LX90 - it is solid and well-made and matches the scope. The only downside is that it doesn't fold and takes up storage space and gives you something else to carry - I knew that before I purchased. If storage is not an issue, I recommend this dew shield.
