The Meade #127 Barlow includes a precision sliding lens assembly permitting continuosly variable power factors between 2x and 3x. Positive stops are provided at both ends of the lens' travel, and an engraved scale indicates the power in use. Recommended on telescopes with f/ ratios of f/6.0 and longer(such as f/11.0).

Since I have no other Barlows, I really can not tell you of it's quality,perse,but from what I personal observed the quality did not dimish when increasing the magnification by 2x.I could nit go over 2 because It is too long for my Celestron First Scope.Overal it was a good deal,esecially because of the low price and B&H outstanding reputation.
