The MIDISport 4x4 USB from M-Audio is a 4 input, 4 output MIDI interface that can handle 64 discrete channels of MIDI I/O. Powered from the USB bus of the host computer, the unit is extremely portable and is compatible with both the Mac and Windows platforms.
The interface allows for multiple sound units to be interfaced with a computer and each input and output port has an LED indicator displaying MIDI activity. Due its design, the MIDISport 4x4 USB is an excellent choice for both a professional or project studio, as well as for portable use.

It is NOT Mac Compatible!!! If you have a Mac DO NOT BUY THIS, it will a paper weight.

Even though the Mac drivers are a bit dated, they work well and are totally stable in the latest OS X (10.6.4). My only complaint is that the build quality has diminished a little bit over time--the LEDs aren't so well secured, but this is really minor and does not compromise performance at all.
