Gitzo G-535 Geared Lateral Side Arm for Studex Tripods
The G-535 Side Arm is recommended for Gitzo Series 3 (and larger) tripods, and measures 12.7" (32cm) in length while offering 11.2" (28.5 cm).
A lateral arm enables cameras to be positioned above or below the tripod in a 90° position, which might otherwise be obstructed by the tripod legs. They're available in rapid and geared versions and include a reversible 1/4 and 3/8" mounting stud.

The L shape bracket isn't strong enough to support heavy setup.
Gear lever difficult to operate.
The locking ring take a lot of force to securely lock down. (At least 5 time as much when compare to a Gitzo leg)
Counter weight hook not well design and may let the sand bag to slip out.
