Comments about Gitzo G-556 Weekend Aluminum Boompole:
This is a good, basic boom pole for getting a microphone closer to the audio you need to record. It has two extension points, a cushioned hand grip, a solid microphone connection mount and a hole to insert your mic cable through the center of the pole (you'll need to feed the cable through without a connector and then solder a connector back on).
It's light-weight and strong and seems fairly well-built. Recommend as a good, entry-level boom pole for video and film shoots.

Comments about Gitzo G-556 Weekend Aluminum Boompole:
Lightweight and solid, has a standard screwhole for the shockmount. It does not have any cable clips so you have to secure the cable with ties.Retracts to 30 inches which is very handy. Get this with the Gitzo G11510 shock mount.

This pole works great for small productions....i.e. one without a sound person. Works well on a stand for interviews and is not too difficult for a producer or PA to use.

Well...
It's a boompole, It's not very long, It's not heavy and best of all: It's cheap!
I can boom my AT897 with ease. If you don't boom very heavy mics, go for it.
