Photographers Formulary Print Frames are made at the Formulary from high quality oak, with a felt-lined, hinged back board for print inspection.
Pressure clips hold your negative secure while printing.
All frames are made one inch bigger than the size quoted. (i.e. an 8x10" frame actually has a glass size of 9x11" so that you get a full 8x10" print).
Frames are stained black.

Comments about Photographers' Formulary 11x14" Contact Print Frame:
This is a high quality split back frame for long exposure contact printing. It works quite well for that purpose.
I would not recommend it for use with regular enlarger papers, only because you will curse the springs. Those springs are there to ensure that the registration remains while checking exposure during printing with printing-out-papers. They are overkill with normal (developing-out) paper.

Comments about Photographers' Formulary 11x14" Contact Print Frame:
After doing several cyanotypes without this product I was having trouble getting consistently sharp results so I took the plunge and got a contact frame. Now I will not say that you have to have a contact frame in order to get sharp cyanotype prints but this makes it a lot easier.
The only problem that I have encountered with the frame is that the front glass sits a little below the frame, so if the sun (light source) is not directly above the frame there will be a slight shadow cast. This is really only a problem if you are using a 12x15 sheet of paper and the image goes all the way to the edge of the paper. This problem is easily solved by tilting the frame towards the direction of the sun.

I bought this for my photography class and it was worth it. It's a great product for the price and has a tight grip. Very pleased, will use it many times for both class and personal use.
