I like that these speedrings have 8 holes so I can grab one speedring wether using a standard 4 pole softbox or the 8 poled umbrella softboxes. I do not use the holes for screwing into a stand so those are just bothersome to me. I do wish PhotoFlex would "double drill" the "last hole in - first hole out" the way Plume rings are drilled; it helps with easier set up and tear down. Metal tightening screws are sturdy but I have had speedrings with heavy plastic screws and they hold well and are more gentle on the euipment.

This ring works fine, but I don't know why the three screws have little rubber feet on them. They won't retract far enough (with the feet on) to fit over the retaining ring on the dynalite flash head, so you just end up taking them off and lose them. There must be a better design that would keep some sort of rubber tip and yet allow the ring to fit on the head.
Otherwise, well-made and durable.

Haven't had too much time to use this speedring, but for the money was really impressed with the quality and strength.

Comments about Photoflex Speed Ring for Dynalite:
I have four of them, and one had a screw post that was SO difficult to turn, even with pliers (another reviewer mentioned this too). In lieu of returning it, I swapped the screw out with and old one from a 4 hole speedring and it worked fine. Must be a QC issue with some of the thumb screw threads...

Comments about Photoflex Speed Ring for Dynalite:
We got the ring in the right place with the help of huge pliers, but I hope I am not around the day it has to come out. There was something wrong with the threading - definitely defective! We needed it for a shoot [...]and now I don't have the strength to remove it! Very disappointing!

Excellent quality! I especially like the extra holes that are "tapped" to receive 1/4" and 3/8" bracket studs. Use this feature to take the weight of softboxes off the strobe head, and transfer it to the bracket! Nice!

It works perfectly with my Photoflex softbox. It does not fit at all with my Wafer Plume softbox.
Comments about Photoflex Speed Ring for Dynalite:

Comments about Photoflex Speed Ring for Dynalite:
Works with OctoDome and other softboxes, EXCEPT the Stripdome which photoflex stopped producing in favor of the larger HalfDome. I found that out the hardway. I use it with the 7' OctoDome and it does the job, however I wish Photoflex would come up with a quick release system for their speedrings similar to Chimera's. I have already bent a rod while trying to assemble the softbox, but maybe thats just my carelessness.

Comments about Photoflex Speed Ring for Dynalite:
Product works as described
Very good workmanship
Instructions are dated (looks like they refer to an older version of the speedring) twice as many holes as rods so you need to pay attention to rod placement
Need to put the rods in opposite holes (not obvious in instructions)
getting rods out was difficult until I got the hang of it - need muscle to get the rods out
