This works just as it should but I only gave it 4 stars because the teflon inserts meant to let you turn your softbox are VERY stiff. In order for it to turn you pretty much need to hold onto the light stand and really give it a tug. You don't want a ring that moves on it's own but this is a bit much.

This speed ring is ok,does the job.BUT....manufacturer....check out the Bowens original speed rings. These bad boys have a clip that allow the speed ring to fold in half, relaes the pressure for easy assembly....AND....on the squareish soft boxes, this lets them fols flat fully assembled and transport like a folder envelop....check it out.

I have this product on my wish list for a few months, and finally I decided to try it out. I am holding it in my hands and it's pretty strong and light weight. I am planning to get two more in the near future.

Comments about Photoflex Speed Ring for Bowens, Impact:
They don't seem to fit perfect on the Bowen Monolights, They go on ok, but don't lock in. With bowen stuff you cant turn the rings, but with this one, it turns, and if you get to where the 3 prongs are lined up where you put them on, they will come out.

In my case, two of the "teeth" came off. The rest of my Travelite/Bowens speed rings have never had this problem and have worked perfectly for 5+ years. This, I only got a few uses out of it. Not too happy.

not much to say, it does work well, I use it to attach a Large Photoflex Octodome (which es like 2.1 meters in diameter) to a Bowens 1000DX Head and it works just fine.
