This piece is a must for the 1600 case. It has many zipper see through compartments and pen pockets, paper pockets, etc. The case itself can hold all the big pieces of gears, but the lid organizer is a must for the small stuff. The zippered mesh compartments are great because you can see into them. Only 4 stars because it is sold separately!

We use this product to hold the small gear we use in our Personal Protective Equipment. What great about it is that it has alot of storage.
The thing I don't like about it is that I have to screw too many screws into the case to hold it.

I found the organizer to be very useful for all of the small items in my case that may otherwise be bouncing around loose. I have it filled with filters, rings, cables, extra batteries, quick release plates, cleaning supplies, etc. Much easier to find what I need in a hurry. I only rated it a 4 because it does not seem to be made with the highest quality materials for the price.

Use it for first aid. I like the mesh pockets. It's a little flimsy, and not as robust as I'd expect from Pelican, but works for me nonetheless. It is NOT like the advertised photo, so do research on the exact item # you want.

The organizer is useful, with multiple zippered compartments. However, the construction quality isn't as good as it should be. Seams are not too straight and the screw holes for the lid don't line up too well. The area for papers or folders just sort of hangs open since it has no stiffness to it and can't snap or lock closed.

Also, with the whole thing black, it can be hard to see items through the mesh zippered pockets. For cables and such, you really have to open them up to see what's inside, which is a pain. And there really isn't anywhere to put labels for these items.

I love their well-built cases, but they really dropped the ball on this one. Great idea, just terrible execution.

Works exactly as designed. I like how the zippered pockets are sized so they take up the same amount of space as the top foam insert.

This lid organizer works great in giving you some more storage options for small parts, manuals, etc.
The velcro alone doesn't keep it attached for a long time. You need to screw it in with the provided screws. If you have a new Pelican, no problem, it has mounting points. On and old(er) Pelican, you need to be very careful to not screw all the way down, as it will puncture the lid. Just drill it down enough to hold the organizer.

I love my Pelican case, and I bought this lid organizer for odds and ends camera parts such as manuals, memory cards, filters, and so forth. I wish the organizer were a little heavier duty, as the zippers and vinyl-covered cardboard backing seem a bit flimsy, especially as compared to the indestructible case. However, I haven't used it much yet and do not know how it will hold up under use.

This guy has lots of pockets, mostly small in size, and mostly zippered. To me, it doesn't quite live up to the Pelican name in that the zippers don't seem very sturdy. Pack a pouch too tight, and it seems like the zipper is about to burst. I also keep a pretty full Pelican case, with a few items sticking about 1" above the foam, and that limits what I can fit in the pouches pretty severely. It would be great for little things, not so great for storing cords (which is what I'm using it for). It does screw into my 1620 case, which is nice; it's not going anywhere.

I got this for the peli case I also bought for research travel. The organizer is slightly different than what is pictured on the page but still works; it is sturdy but seems a little pricey.

Replaces the foam inside the lid of the Pelican 1600 case by screwing into preset holes. Once secured it holds tight. Plenty of room to store cards, cables, etc.

What a great addition to the Pelican 1614 case! I was a little reluctant because of the price, but I figured since I was spending so much on the case, why not! It's great! I keep my Elincrome skyport transmitter, 2 receivers, AA batteries, battery chargers for the camera, small battery charger for AA, business cards, photos, note pads, pens, remotes for the camera. The pockets are a great size and it was easy to install. I didn't use the velcro, just the screws and it's pretty durable.

Has lots of different sized and shaped pockets. The screw mount option will only work with newer Pelican cases - older models do not have the screw mount points. However, the velcro option has held it in place for me so far.

Great accessory to a fantastic case. The organizer lets me keep all the loose/small things in one place and easy to see. Lots of zipped pockets and large enough to fit most of the items I wanted to in there with a good variety of pocket sizes. It was easy to install and remove.

It wasn't the quality I expected especially for the price. The case itself is great and I thought the lid organizer would be the same. It attaches weird with either velcro or screws (depending on the case -mine was velcro). Probably worth more like $20-$30. It also compromises the protection of your gear when compared to the original foam (allows gear more room to move). It also doesn't make as much room as I thought it would. It works and is pretty good. Just not what I expected.
