The Rolls MB15b ProMatch is an inexpensive line level audio device that converts consumer level stereo RCA signals to balanced XLR professional line level signals, and vice versa. The unit is useful for video duplication and audio recording studio applications; for example, connecting a consumer VCR to a professional video deck, or an off-the-shelf CD player to a professional mixing console or recorder.
The MB15b ProMatch has 2 XLR inputs and stereo RCA outputs on one side, labeled 1, and stereo RCA inputs and 2 XLR outputs on the other side, labeled 2. Each side has stereo level controls, and an LED indicates that power is applied to the unit.
Additionally, the unit functions as a balanced XLR line level control. By adding a stereo pair of jumper cables between the 4 RCA jacks (connecting ins to outs), the level controls may be inserted into any balanced XLR line.

Comments about Rolls MB15b Promatch 2-Way Stereo Converter:
I have a home theater where 3 of the seats have Buttkicker tactile transducers, for those earth quaking explosions etc.
Tactile transducers require a lot of wattage from your amp, so a pro amp suited me best (lots of power, drive low ohms, cheaper per watt). However, since my home theater receiver only had the typical -10 dB output on the sub-woofer channel, I needed something to bring it up to the +4 dB required by the professional amp.
This box is an affordable way to integrate professional audio equipment into your home theater. No fuss, just works.
Just be careful when you now do the channel balancing, since you'll have three places to adjust the audio level, 1) the receiver, 2) the MB15b Promatch, and 3) the amplifiers input gain.

Comments about Rolls MB15b Promatch 2-Way Stereo Converter:
It is very simple and easy to use. The function is limited, converting the audio signal from Unbalanced to balanced and in the opposite way but It works totally fine my use. The price is very affordable, too.

Comments about Rolls MB15b Promatch 2-Way Stereo Converter:
This will make the 7th MB15 I now have in my kit. This little swiss army knife allows me to work around "mis-communications" in the planning phase. It is also very handy to deal with low audio levels as this unit is active AND it works wonderfully as a pad.
Comments about Rolls MB15b Promatch 2-Way Stereo Converter:
Great gadget for ENG videographers using HDV camcorders. We use it to connect to sat trucks and multi boxes in news-pool situations. The outputs are almost always +4 dbu professional line level, and the HDV camcorders are all consumer, -10dBv line inputs. This inexpensive but capable gadget does the conversion and provides attenuation or amplification as needed. It is bi-directional, so we can feed takes from a camcorder direct to the sat truck inputs, or receive from them. Neat, compact, inexpensive. Great gadget.
