We ordered this mic to replace the original one that came with our Sennheiser cordless system. Lapel mic sounds great and we do not have to turn the volume up as much as we had to witht he old mic.

What is it? A lavaliere microphone made to plug into a wireless transmitter. The Good: It's perfect for 'run and gun' shooting, documentary or corporate interviews. Easy to clip on to ties or shirts. Gets great sound from the subject while omitting most background noise (except for low frequency trucks, airplanes, etc.).
The Bad: Wind screen has tendency to come off and is easy to lose. Difficult to hide or clip the microphone on a t-shirt, blouse or any clothing with no defined flaps.

Overall an awesome product. Just make sure your subject is gentle with it when putting on removing.

Sennheiser makes great makes and this one is no exception. Fantastic quality and clarity like no other mic I own. Great with a mini recorder - can be clipped on a pastor or groom during a wedding ceremony or used in an interview or drama. Very versatile.

This mic is great. It has less hiss noise and we can change channel see we don't interfere with the adult wireless mics. It has excellant pick up and sound quality and I can even use it ti sing with instead of always grabbing the hand held wireless. And also the volume is still loud to hear me sing even with the music cranked up where my experience with most lapel mics is it seems to decrease in volume when we turn on the music.

These are great Lav mics. Full bodied sound and fairly durable. As with any audio equipment, a little care in handling goes a long - long way. I use them for interviews and usually put it on and off my subject. Make sure the excess wire is tucked in to their clothing in such a way that it does not get caught on anything. Including their hands as they talk. Nothing worse than having you subject rip it off their suit during the interview.

The only downside to this mic is that it seems so easy to damage the internal wiring close to the 1/8-inch jack which attaches to the body pack transmitter. If you do a lot of interviews, take care not to twist the wiring itself - it's easy to do.

Otherwise - I find the audio quality fantastic, and am always happy with the size and ease of use.

This is the (almost) perfect mic for a church pastor. We have been using the Sennheiser mic series (handhelds and lavalier) for the last 7 years in a mid-sized (500 seat) sanctuary and have been very pleased. The 'pastor problem' occurs when his voice becomes very quiet (loss of sound)or very loud (distortion). This, I think, is just a problem with lavalier mics since they are stuck in one place on a lapel and there is no way for sound guys to anticipate a LOUD or soft moment. A very good application of this mic is for weddings - the omnidirectional capability allows both the preacher AND the wedding party to be heard quite well. Normal wear-and-tear over time stretched and/or pinched the cable and the mic became unuseable so another mic and cable were purchased. PLEASE warn the users of this product that is has fragile parts - the lapel clip can be broken quite easily, and the 'cap' screen comes off without too much effort(and is easily lost since it is so small). AND if you sit on or yank the cable enough times you can expect to have to buy another one! Good mic - good price.

I use this mic for both internal and customer facing videos. We shoot product marketing videos as well as client testimonials. These mics have been a great option for our company. We do buy replacements because eventually the connection from the wire to the 1/8" jack gets weak. Bottom line however, is that we continue to purchase this mic again-and-again.

treat it with respect because it is expensive.

I owned this mic as it came with my wireless Sennheiser unit. I bought this as a spare in case something went wrong with my original or I needed to mic somebody else and keep the sound consistent. I am pleased with the quality. It's not amazing, but it's good for the price range it is in. If you do events such as weddings, or even sports casting... I think this will suit you just fine.

This is Sennheiser, so you know that you are getting the best. There really isn't much more to say then this microphone does the job. The tightening bolt on the bottom is extremely helpful and the wind screen works like a charm.

I use this lav mic primarily on scripted video productions as primary sound for lead actors and occasionally to capture sound in live theater or event situations for video purposes. After 5 years of regular use, the connection at the mini-jack end final gave out and it became time to replace the mic. I have two Sennheiser lav units and they are essential to my production work so I replaced it immediately.

I was rather perturbed to see that the price of the lav mic is almost a quarter of the price of the full system, and there's no alternative because of Sennheiser's proprietary locking collar around the mini-jack connection. Oh well.

Also, the wind screen and clip provided almost inevitably disappear on the first day of any shoot I use them. I tend to use Rycote undercovers or gaffers tape instead.
