Comments about Sigma Wide Angle 24mm f/1.8 (D) EX Aspherical DG DF Macro Autofocus Lens for Sony Alpha & Minolta Maxxum Series:

I am using the Sigma on a Sony a850 full frame camera to document a building renovation in NY as well as for indoor group photos at parties and family get togethers. It has acquitted itself well in both uses. I love the fast lens, which allows me to take more indoor photos without flash. It has also proven itself very sharp at f5.6 and above outdoors. While it doesn't have the build of the comparable Zeiss lens, it is well constructed and, at less than half the price, is an excellent value.

Comments about Sigma Wide Angle 24mm f/1.8 (D) EX Aspherical DG DF Macro Autofocus Lens for Sony Alpha & Minolta Maxxum Series:

This is not a macro lens because the magnification ratio is not 1:1. That being said, it is a fine lens for low light shooting. Colors are vivid. Used in M mode and bump the ISO and concerts are a dream-the sensor light and the flash don't bother the performers. Also cmos means 36mm, just about what our eyes see at. Little CA, no vignetting. Very sharp.

It fits my Sony A350 perfect.
I wish I would have waited on my other generic lens. Sigma is well designded and sturdy. I'm going with Sigma instead of the overprice sony lens.
