The Hoya Portrait filter is a subtle intensifying filter using "didymium" glass with a different chemical composition. Didymium filters are also referred to as "Band Pass" filters. They achieve the increase in color saturation through the selective blocking of the colors around the color being intensified. Through this band pass effect, Hoya has developed a filter that subtly increases saturation of the pink component in skin tones by reducing both the yellow and orange cast of people's complexion, and it does not give an over-all color cast to the photograph. Over all color casting has been a problem with intensifying/color enhancing filter available from other manufacturers. The Hoya Portrait filter is available in filter sizes 49mm through 77mm. Filter Factor: 1.15 F-Stop, Compensation: 1/5 stop
