Ilford Bromophen developer is a phenidone/hydroquinone developer supplied in powder form. It is suitable for dish or tray developing all resin coated (RC) and fiber based (FB) black and white photographic papers.
It is economical, clean working and has good keeping properties. It is particularly recommended for dish and tray developing Multigrade Warmtone RC and FB papers to get the warmest image tone. Prepare the working solution from your stock solution. Never contaminate developer solutions with either stop bath or fixer solutions.
Bromophen comes in two parts: A & B that must be mixed with water before use. You must mix the solutions in total, from both packets, to create the stock solution. Do not mix only a part to make smaller quantities but you can mix larger quantities by using the appropriate quantities from additional packets.
It should be noted that Ilford recommends that gloves, eye protection, apron or overall be worn when handling and mixing all chemicals.
Note! It is not recommend for high temperature or machine processing applications. It is not suitable for developing films
