Comments about Belkin Apple Monitor Adapter:
The Belkin Apple Monitor Adapter enabled me to connect to the ADC connection on my G5 Mac which solved the problem of my monitor automatically restarting my computer on shut down. My new HP ZR22w LCD monitor would restart my Mac G5 whenever I shut it down, and would also awaken immediately out of sleep mode. I found an Apple support forum article indicating that the problem came from connecting the monitor to the DVI connection on the G5 instead of to the ADC connection on the graphic card.

Just an adapter cable but a necessary bit for owners of older Mac towers; works great.

Comments about Belkin Apple Monitor Adapter:
I use this connector so I can port video from my Mac to my projector. I have a ATI Radeon X800 XT video card in my old Mac G5 2.3 PPC that has ADC and DVI. This was a cheaper way to get the results I wanted then buying the old ADC adaptor. This cable runs my flat panel 23" monitor, I then run a DVI to VGA adaptor to the projector from the DVI connector on the card. It works great. I run a optic cable from the computer port to the audio system for sound. I have what I call a Poor Man's Home Theatre.

Comments about Belkin Apple Monitor Adapter:
After years having an extra video out port on my Power Mac G5 and not knowing what kind of port it was I finally figured it out, it's an ADC (Apple Display Connector)used by late Apple monitors at the time the first G5s came out. These ports aren't used anymore. So, if you have two monitors and a Power Mac G5 there's no need to pay for an upgraded video graphics card, just plug one of these adapters and you'll get two DVI out ports. I have the native DVI out connected to a SONY 19' monitor at 1280x1024 and the adapters' DVI out connected to a SONY 42' monitor at a max resolution of 1920x1080 (FullHD). Now I need a Blu-ray drive :) A downer would be that you can't leave the cable plugged if you restart the system, because the screen will freeze before the login window and you'll have to use the 5 sec trick to restart. So unplug, restart, plug, detect, enjoy.

Comments about Belkin Apple Monitor Adapter:
Apple's DVI to ADC adaptor has received a lot of press lately and is easily obtainable. It allows someone who has a computer with a DVI port to run an Apple display with an ADC connector.
This does the opposite. It allows those of us with graphics cards with ADC connector outputs to drive displays with DVI inputs. I have a Power Mac G4 QuickSilver, with an NVIDIA GeForce4 MX graphics card, and this adaptor allows me to run a 20" Apple Cinema Display, and presumably any other DVI equipped display.
The cable is very well made and attractive, and as far as I can tell, B&H is the only place left to buy this adaptor.
Thank you, B&H!
