I use this slate for syncing independent films. It's got a nice clap. Not too bulky. Chalk erases well. Be aware, however, that it is essentially a chalkboard. There is no backing to support it so while it can withstand repeated claps, if you set something heavy on it, it is probably going to break. This slate probably isn't appropriate for complicated shoots, as it doesn't provide enough space to write extra stuff on it. But as a part of the whole professionalism image, no actor will notice the difference.

Can't do a video without a clapper board, and this one is well built and perfect for my uses. Easy to write on and it adds a lot of character to my video shooting. Fun to say "Lights, camera action too!"

What can one say? It is a clap board and it does a fine job of clapping.

I'm doing lightweight training videos with simply synchronization needs, so I don't need anything fancy. I do appreciate that it isn't one of those tiny boards.

I like that it uses chalk rather than dry-erase markers; chalk seems much more green and there is no temptation to accidentally write something using a permanent marker.
