Comments about Tamrac 697 Rolling Backpack (Black):
I use this to transport two d700's with 70-200 and 24-70 attached, 3 flashes, accessories, battery pack, and extra lens. In short, this bag fits pretty much everything I need it too and is carry-on compatible. Great to get the weight of the gear off of my back and yet have the option to use the somewhat cumbersome backpack harness as well. I wish the harness wasn't so tucked away and didn't require clipping together to use - slows down the conversion too much. Other than that - great bag.

Comments about Tamrac 697 Rolling Backpack (Black):
I use it everyday to go on location shootings, and it carries everything I need.
great wheels for poor New York sidewalks, that absorbs most of the shocks!
I decided to remove all the backpack straps I did not need, which gave me an additional pocket to store my laptop cables.

Comments about Tamrac 697 Rolling Backpack (Black):
This backpack is used by me for outdoor shoots. Its typical of all tamrac bags, well made, durable, and comfortable to carry if you are strong enough to carry such a large pack. I also have a tamrac 677 which I like better than this bag. Both are approx. the same size, but the 677 has 4 slots to connect the extra m.a.s. pouches instead of 2 on the 697. When putting the extra large side pouches on the 697 the tend to flop around due to this lack of extra slots. also with the 697, tamrac decided to implant the wheels in the pack which took up space inside the pack, making humps of unusable space inside the pack. Even though the 677 has smaller wheels i prefer it over the 697, more space inside and better side connections. All and all you can not get a better backpack than tamrac, quality is excellent. A little pricey, but isnt all camera equipment?
Comments about Tamrac 697 Rolling Backpack (Black):
Nicely made convertible roller/backpack. Very solid. My 17 Mac book Pro fits perfectly in the laptop pouch. That was a surprised since the spec only says it will hold only a 15 laptop. I think it's because the 17 Mac book Pro is only 1 thick. The pouch holding the shoulder straps is bulky, making the case much thicker.
Expertise: Corporate/staff photographer
Problems Encountered: I am not sure how this case will perform as a carry on.. seems a little bulky even if the shoulder strap pouch is folded down. It is not a soft case and you will not be able to squeeze it into a tight space.
