Bought this for my monopod so I can put the head from my tripod on the monopod. It works great and is very stable!

Comments about Giottos 3/8" to 1/4"-20 Reducing Bushing:
I bought these so that I could use my Zeppelin/Blimp kits with still photography/consumer level tripods (rather than having to mount them on a boom pole).
They make setting up for field effects recording a breeze, because I can carry lighter and cheaper tripods.
You may want a bag or container to keep them in though, as they're easy to lose.

Just picked up a Mamiya RB67. The thread size was not compatible with my tripod, and this camera needs to be used with a tripod (!)
Bought a Manfrotto adapter without looking at it close enough and realized that it was not the right part for my tripod.
Got this one from B&H. Nothing to the installation - just plug and play.
Everything is nice and solid between the camera and the tripod, probably just like the original adapter.
Great for mounting a "professional" camera onto a "non-professional" tripod.
If this is what you need, get it.

Does what its suppose to do. Cost is high for a little 20 cent piece of machined metal rod, but when you have to have it you have to have it.
