Matthews Baby Boa Weight Bag, Black - 5 lbs
Sand bags come in a variety of shapes and weights. They are used for securing the bases of light stands and set walls. Many have handles, for hanging on hooks or risers. Some have two wings, to allow draping over light stand legs.
Most are cordura nylon, some are vinyl covered and waterproof.
Some models of sandbags are shipped empty, for convenience and economy. They can be filled with sand, or any type of weight you provide, and emptied for storage, or transport.

This is sheer genius! Very well made, very well designed and the 5 lbs. is perfect for compact light stands and portable speedlights such as Nikon SB 600/700/800/900 or Canon speedlights. Has rubbery material on one side on middle piece to help keep it where you put it. Highly recommended.

When I received it, I was surprised how tiny it is. Just wrap around the lightstand and add a little extra stability. Great for shoe flash on lightstand. For monolight, I think 10lbs+ would be more appropriate.

Quality finish and feel. I use this bag to serve as a counter balance weight on a Bogen-Manfrotto boom/light stand. Works great. It wraps around light stands and such for a little added security. Nice.

I bought this sand bag to keep my environmental light set-up to keep from blowing over. It works fine, light enough to use at weddings. Works great on studio light stands with casters.
