I Bought this ring to adapt a wide angle lens to my canon HV30. Works perfect. BH shipped it Very fast ( next day ) ! Great store, Quality product. What else can I say about a adapter ring? It fits my lens and do the job .

I can't knock the quality of this step-up ring, and I'm sure for some applications the girth of this piece might be necessary, but for most applications, I think it would be to wide. The male threading is almost 3mm wide which won't completely screw into the wide angle adaptor I have (also Century Optics) and the female thread ring is well over 5mm wide. In total, I can still see the corners of the 58mm filter I'm using which was the very reason I got a step-up ring in the first place. But if you had a heavy duty lens to put on a stardard SLR lens, then this might be just the thing you'd want.
