Arri Softbank D4 Four-Light Kit (120VAC)
You might have 99 problems, but enough light shouldn't be one. The Arri Softbank D4 Four-Light Kit (120VAC) was designed with modern, light-sensitive digital media in mind, so you can accomplish more than you might think with the 1250 total watts in this package. Three of Arri's most popular Fresnel lights form the core of this complete lighting outfit: the Arri 150W (two included) is a small Fresnel with great performance and rugged construction, with a 2" (50 mm) Fresnel lens; the very efficient 300W Plus Fresnel uses a 3.2" (80 mm) low expansion, borosilicate Fresnel lens to produce a soft, even field of light. The 650W Fresnel features a 4.3" (110 mm) lens and the same reflector, housing and power cord as the 300W Fresnel, producing (of course) more light. A Chimera 16 x 22" softbox is included (perfect for interviews and soft light in tight spaces), as well as barndoors, filter frames, light stands, bulbs, a ceiling scissor clamp and a hard compact wheeled carrying case for storage and transport. This kit is equipped for 120V AC operation.

Please keep in mind I recently purchased this lighting kit and have not yet used it extensively.
I have shot a few short videos with my friends using these lights and so far I am very happy with them. They give off a nice light and feel very solid. We took a few out in the snow and had no problems with them. I am also happy with the softbox; it took a bit of time to figure out how to put it together, but I'm sure there are instructional videos online somewhere. I was afraid to bend the rods too much, but after it was properly set up, it was clear that the system could handle the tension. The only reason it received 4 stars is because they do heat up and tend to stay hot for a while even after they've been turned off. This is to be expected with any such lights however. I also found it a bit difficult to fit all of the pieces back into the case after I had taken them out of their factory sealed packaging and positions. I ended up having to put one of the stands in another lighting bag I owned.

This is a perfect self-contained kit for 3 or 4 light interview setups, or it makes a great addition to a larger kit, giving you a good variety of light sizes for highligting and background lighting.
I use this kit 2-3 times a week in addition to a larger Arri kit. It is also great because I can send out 2 different crews and know that everyone has a variety of fail-safe lighting.
My first Arri kit is going strong at 12+ years of use. I've only had to replace bulbs and a cord here and there.
Arri kits aren't cheap, but they are a small additional price to pay for reliability and longevity.
Without the wheels the kit is a little heavy but it's small size is worth it for portability.

The Light Kit is a prefect blend for not just the small job but also the big production gig. The gear is efficiently packed and comes ready to shoot. The only suggestion if you are considering this kit is to ask for a case with wheels. WIth this being the first light kit I purchased I was surprised at how heavy it was So make sure you ask for details.

This is a great light kit. The lights are extremely well made and durable.
This was my primary lighting for a feature film I just completed that was shot with the HVX200.
It packs easily and fits into the back seat or the trunk of a car.
It is a solid, professional product.

This is a nice basic kit to get started. Although it's not enough to light large areas, it worked well in smaller spaces. We also accidentally dropped one of the 350s in a fountain, but it still works.
