The Carl Heavy Duty DC-238 rotary trimmer is the choice for the most demanding projects.
- A patented rail mechanism holds paper firmly in place to ensure a precise cut
- An adjustable magnetic paper gauge holds material on a sturdy precision calibrated metal base
- Cuts up to 32 sheets of standard copy paper per cut
- Also cuts card stock, black core artist matboard, foamboard and plastic sheets
- Handy built-in storage area holds extra cutting blades and cutting mats
- Replacement "K-Series" blades, including perforating and scoring blades are available separately
- Replacement cutting mats are also available (RM-12)

so far this seems to be a decent cutter, its definitely not a rototrim but it also doesnt bear the larger price tag of one either

We use this in church to cut down everything from weekly inhouse Sunday morning newsletters (800 qty), computer printed 11 x 17 posters, special size post cards, and even tickets. The best feature, well there are so many. Let's just say everything it does, it DOES well! The only down, and I do mean the ONLY is that the paper guide moves ever so slightly so it's very possible not to get a straight cut. So as you use it for the same size job, be sure and check it every so often.[...]

This trimmer works great. I have used it to trim 6 sheets of paper at a time, photos and a cardboard box I trimmed down for a school project. Way easier than a pair of scissors for sure. I liked the fact that this one was 18" to be able to trim larger sized prints. It's gives a very clean and precise cut, but it's a little pricey.
