Hoya 72mm 4x Cross Screen Star Effect Glass Filter
Hoya Cross Screen filters have a surface that is etched with a fine grid pattern. Depending on the pattern, point light sources and reflections create multi-beam stars.
Hoya's Star 4 Cross Screen is designed so that a 4-point star is created from point light sources and reflections.

Comments about Hoya 72mm 4x Cross Screen Star Effect Glass Filter:
Used this filter for a retro "cheese" look. It worked beautifully with lights, and especially flames. You can rotate filter to direct axis of "star beams." If you can keep your fingers out of the shot, you can rotate ring thread as you shoot for added flair.
The only slight drawback is that you can't shoot on macro, as the camera sees the filter's criss-crossed etchings.
