Anton Bauer Tandem-70 On-Camera AC Adapter and Single Position Battery Charger
Anton Bauer's Tandem-70 offers a new approach to portable power. It combines all the functionality of a one position InterActive® charger with the convenience of a noise free camera mounted wide range AC Mains Adapter. The Tandem-70 will power even the most power hungry high definition camera from any worldwide AC source. It also doubles as a full function InterActive Charger charging any Anton Bauer Gold Mount battery in two hours or less. Weighing only one pound (450g) the Tandem-70 is the perfect addition to any field camera as a lightweight mains adapter and/or as a high performance charger. Meets all applicable regulatory requirements including CE and FCC.

As with all Anton Bauer chargers, charging with the Tandem-70 is fully automatic. Mount any Logic Series battery to the Tandem-70 and it will automatically determine the appropriate charge routine and execute it.
The Tandem-70 will charge any Anton Bauer Logic Series Gold Mount battery including:- ProPac 14
- Digital ProPac 14
- TrimPac 14
- Digital Trimpac
- Hytron 50/100/140
- Dionic 90/160
- InterActive
- The Tandem-70 incorporates the exclusive InterActive communication between the battery and charger, which allows the charger to identify any Anton Bauer battery attached and determine the precise charge routine for that particular battery under its present condition.
- Three Stage Charging
- In general, the Tandem-70 utilizes a Three-Stage Charge Routine for each battery.
- DC Power Supply
- The Tandem-70 will automatically operate as an AC adapter once the camera or other device is switched on. An On/Off switch is not incorporated into the power supply (a green LED will light, indicating that the unit is operating as a power supply).
- Automatic Source Selection
- If the AC line voltage is removed, and a charged battery is mounted on the Tandem-70, power from the battery will be routed to the camera. When the AC line voltage is restored, the battery is reevaluated for a proper charge routine.

I bought this for my Panasonic HPX 300 and it works like a champ. When I travel I want to take the minimum amount of gear that still gets the job done.
This charger/AC power supply saves me space and weight when I pack. By
planning ahead I can keep my two Dionic 90 batts charged and use the power
supply when needed.

Having a power supply with your camera is a necessity in long interviews, but having one that is very light, small, and able to be tucked in your camera bag so that it is with you at all times is a major plus. This one won't be tripped over, nor will you forget to flip it back to "charge" like stand-alone Anton - Bauer chargers that most people use as a power supply, instead of buying a separate unit.
BUT - the Tandem 70 is also a charger. Every time you turn off your camera with an Anton Bauer gold mount battery attached - it automatically switches to charging the battery. I know it works well with my Hytron 140's - but I have not tried nor read the specs to see if it also charges Dionics...
The bottom line - don't be a fool - pick one up now. We are all short handed on crews these days, and instead of - "I don't need to bring a power supply because this interview will be short, and my power supply is just too bulky" - it is always with you when you need it. Mine is always in the side pouch of my Porta Brace bag, goes on the plane with me... And actually reduces the number of bricks I have to take with me when I travel, for down time during interviews is charge time for my Hytrons...

Used for Sony F900, DSR570, and 790 cameras. The only powersupply/battery charger that seems to work. Although it has a useful life of only 4-5 years it's the best one on the market IMO.

I plan on using this as my full-time charger, and since it is fairly new I do not know how well it will hold up to such abuse, but so far so good. This charger is a "must have" for the portable, always-on-the-go shooter. It takes less than 2 hours to fully charge my dionic 90's and with a little advance planning, I can get them all charged ahead of time. Plus, it works as an A/C adapter for the camera instead of the heavy-weight and cumbersome alternative A/C adapter.

I'm using the Tandem 70 as a charger for my AB Dionic 90 battery and also as an AC power supply for my JVC GY-HM700 camera. I've just started out on my own as a freelancer so I have to be extremely careful on the products I buy and the money I spend. I've been working with Anton Bauer products for over 20 years so I know they are reliable and a standard in the business. Right now I can only afford one battery so the Tandem 70 is an ideal unit for my usage. It's lightweight and attaches to my camera just like a battery. It will fully charge my Dionic 90 in about 2 hours and can even charge the battery while attached to the camera. I would highly recommend this unit for anyone who is in a similar situation such as mine and it is also great if you are traveling and want to reduce the amount of gear you have to lug around.
