The Sony DXC-990 is a 3-chip color video camera for security and industrial applications. It uses a 1/2-inch CCD that outputs 850 lines of resolution and quality video for scientific and industrial applications. The camera takes professional bayonet-mount lenses.
- Research and Technical Applications
- The DXC-990 is a very high quality capture device. It outputs 850 lines of horizontal resolution and it has 63dB of signal to noise. The camera is made for such detail-critical applications such as microscopy, micro-inspection, and machine vision. With the great selection of professional bayonet lenses available, macro, long telephoto, and super-fast low light lenses can be applied to achieve impressive results.
- 10-Bit Digital Signal Processor
- The DXC-990 is a camera with simple to use on-screen menu set-up features. The camera uses an advanced technology 10-bit digital signal processor that allows sophisticated image controls. The Black-Stretch function permits greater detail in the darker sections of the scene. The Dyna-Latitude feature permits greater detail in the brightest areas of the scene. The camera can also be set up for auto-exposure in 6 specific areas of the viewfinder including a manual setting that exposes for a very small area anywhere in the viewfinder chosen.
- Scene File and User File Memory
- Scene Files are used to accommodate four different common shooting situations including Standard, Microscope, Full Auto, and Strobe. The User Files allow the user to set two custom parameters in the menu for instant recall.
- Color Shading Feature
- This function allows for color verification on a microscope.
- RS-232C Control
- The camera has the ubiquitous 9-pin connector for software driven controls.
