The TR2000 universal high-voltage battery pack is a flexible power source for both high and low-voltage flash units, including non-Sunpak brands. Whether 6 volts or 330 volts are needed, you have it with the TR2000. The pack uses the industry-standard Quantum High-Voltage Turbo modules, or the Low-Voltage Battery 1+ modules.
Continuous, unlimited power is possible simply by swapping interchangeable power clusters. A power status indicator lets you know when to insert a fresh battery cluster, and Memory-Free® technology assures that your Sunpak battery clusters give you 100% capacity every time. Comments about Sunpak TR-2000 Battery Pack with Charger:
I bought two units because I thought that were a good option instead of more expensive QUANTUM units... but after 42 rolls x 36 exps, the batteries became useless... Again.. cheap become expensive at low or medium term!
I also bought the units because it is offered the option of NiH packs... but I have never seen them offered even in the ToCad web site... THIS WAS THE BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT! I felt deceived .. I knew that NiCa will be a medium term "problem" but I thought that NiH will be available... It never happened!
Even when new... the I had problems to put the batteries to recharge... I had to remove the pack of the main unit and clip it back and remove it again... several times in order to begin the charging process...
disappointed.. disappointed...disappointed

Comments about Sunpak TR-2000 Battery Pack with Charger:
This is a nice pack for the price. I bought this for my Canon 580, Pentax 540 and Metz 76 MZ5 handle flash. I worked great on all the 4 battery Canon and Pentax flashes. What I wasn't aware of was that the Metz handle flash requires a 500V power pack and the Sunpak is only 320 volts. Needless to say, it did not work on the Metz handle flash. I suspect that this pack will only work on flashes that take 4 AA batteries. I then bought a used Quantum Turbo SC. Comparing the Quantum to the Sunpak, I found the Quantum smaller but a normal size Quantum is about the same size as the Sunpak. The recycle times were faster on the Quantum because of the higher voltage and the battery recharge time is a lot faster. The advantages of the Sunpak are much less expensive, batteries are user interchangable and you can carry a spare. The packaging for the spare nicad battery pack I purchased claims the battery is free of memory effects. It is too new to know if this is true. I do like the unit and plan to keep it.

Comments about Sunpak TR-2000 Battery Pack with Charger:
My issue had been keeping up with multiple sets of rechargeable AA batteries for my Canon 580EX flash. No more problems once I used the Sunpak TR-2000! Recycle time was nearly instantaneous in most shots. I hope the Ni-Cad battery will last for years but would prefer Li-ion instead with its zero memory effect and very slow loss of charge when not in use. Recharging took several hours, but that's reasonable given what it would take to recharge an equivalent number of AA batteries. The product is not small but I wouldn't call it bulky either. I just hook it to my belt behind me and run the cable up my left side to the camera-mounted flash unit.

Comments about Sunpak TR-2000 Battery Pack with Charger:
I purchased this item for use with my Sunpak 120J lights as I had been using the 120J's with the standard AA batteries but found the recycle time way too slow. I was pleasantly surprised with the recycle time of this battery system. It has vastly improved it making my location photography a much better experience without having to wait for the long recycle times. I highly recommend this item!

Comments about Sunpak TR-2000 Battery Pack with Charger:
This is my second purchase of a battery pack. I recently purchased a portable lighting setup with two Canon 580EX II flashes, umbrellas and stands. I used the setup recently for a 1300-photo shoot and had okay performance. I was trying to shoot about once every 3 seconds and I found that I had to frequently replace (like 6 times) the AA batteries in the 580's to keep the recycle time within an acceptable timeframe. This is the only battery pack I have used, so I can't really gauge it's performance against other packs. Overall, I have been happy with this pack and have been using it under less extreme conditions for years, which is why I bought a second on. I do wish it was smaller and lighter, but it's capacity is reasonable for it's size. One note -- I broke off the belt clip, which is integrated into the main chassis. I called the manufacturer's service line and they shipped me a replacement chassis at no charge well outside of warranty. Therefore I must report outstanding customer support for this product.
