Bergger Prestige Variable CB Style is a double weight photographic paper with a warm black image tone, with a cream base. Its heavy (300 gm2), superb fiber base gives it exceptional results.
Prestige Variable CB Style(Cream Base) can produce an image from a soft tone to an exceptionally hard tone due to the emulsion incorporating both blue and green sensitivities.
By using a multi filter set, contrast range from 0 to 5 are available, in half grade increments from a single paper.

I used it for my landscape work and I found this paper to be very good to capture the small and delicate details and the gradual change in light. Beautiful ivory highlights yet the flatness of the semi-mat paper expands on grays and blacks and transforms the image rather in to the drawing, which was great for my current work. However the flatness was not that wonderful for my other projects thus I would use only if in need to produce the pencil sketch effect.

I will use it. I have been waiting for the return of CB Style for months. I had saved some of the old product to test against the new. The old has a much more ivory base, which I prefer. The old has an over all warmer tone and more richness in the shadows and lower zones. The new may have brighter, cleaner highlights. The new is also almost a full stop faster, this is convenient! I also tested the two versions against Ilford Warmtone I had been using while Bergger was unavailable. Making my best print of one image on all three, while I prefer the "old" CB Style, the new is still my preference to the Ilford. As with the previous version, I love the 'semi-gloss' surface, which in today's choices, is unique. I guess, if they keep making it with more of a natural white, rather than ivory base, when it is unavailable I can more easily use Ilford warmtone w/o clients really knowing. Also, having Harmon make it, will likely make it that much more consistent from emulsion to emulsion. Over all, again, I like the paper, and appreciate their commitment to still making the best product they can. Welcome back. Now make boxes of 50 and 100 for 8X with a bit of a price break, and convenience. Thank you.
