Due to its light pink color, the Hoya Skylight (1B) reduces the bluish cast of daylight and produces a pleasing, warmer picture tone. Wise initial investments, they help protect your lens from dust, moisture and scratches, which can lead to costly repairs.
Multicoated to minimize reflection at the filter surfaces which reduces flare and ghosting.

Comments about Hoya 72mm Skylight 1B (HMC) Multi-Coated Glass Filter:
Quality filter. Used for outdoor photography. No problems with vignetting.
Overall, I've decided I like the UV filters the most. The Pro 1, has the knurled edge, which makes it a little easier to get on and off. Thin profile not a deal breaker when it comes to purchasing the HMC filter. (Basically, thin profile of the Pro 1, hasn't come into play.)

Comments about Hoya 72mm Skylight 1B (HMC) Multi-Coated Glass Filter:
I use this filter as a general all-purpose filter on my AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor 18-200 mm f/3.5-5.6 IF-ED lens with a Nikon D300. The filter is perfect--photos without this filter or with a simple UV filter always turned out too blue or washed out. I would highly recommend this filter.

Comments about Hoya 72mm Skylight 1B (HMC) Multi-Coated Glass Filter:
I use this 72mm lens on my Tamron 18-270 lens. It does not stay on the lens and comes off into my lens cap. Not sure what is causing that problem, but wish it would it wasn't happening.

I really like Hoya filters. Excellent color rendition and inexpensive enough to act as a ready lense cover.
