I purchased this mount to use with a light weight video camera to attach it to my side car window. It works very well. The flat clamp side is rubberized and the screw mount is soft enough not to cause damage. The little bendable arm above this works great to position the camera. The only drawback is that you have to losening this arm sectin in order to get the clamp to tighten on the bottom of the camera. I wish you could place the arm and then quickly turn the thumbscrew to tighten the clamp to the camera. Its a moinor annoyence for an other wise nice little clamp.

Used it once. It's really a cheap piece of equipment. There are other items out there that are much better made. The cap to the clamp came off the first time and had to be refixed with a strong adhesive. But, I wasn't surprised. It feels cheap the moment you grab it.

Comments about Ultrapod Ultra Clamp Assembly:
Believe it or not, I don't use the Ultra Clamp with a camera. I install graphics which is sometimes a wall murals or lettering and even picture frames so I have to use a laser level and that was the reason I purchased it. The level comes with a bracket that works with magnets which attaches to the metal corner bead in the wall but sometimes it is not convenient and the clamp allows me to attach it almost anywhere; every room has a door to clamp onto. The Ultra Clamp Assembly by Pedco really makes a difference in making my job quick and easy due the many ways you can adjust it. So if it works well the way I use it, it has to be just as good for a camera.

Comments about Ultrapod Ultra Clamp Assembly:
This is one of those accessories that prove very handy every once in a while. I use it to mount small cameras for different POV's and also to mount a 7" LCD monitor onto a tripod handle for multi-cam shoots.
A similar clamp supports the LCD control unit for a pole-mounted POV camera.
It holds well and versatile.

Mount away! So far I have mounted an H4n to my tripod for "audio insurance", I have mounted cam for a steady wide angle shot of a band so I could do a 3 camera shoot alone. The possibilities are endless. I ordered 2 more.

Comments about Ultrapod Ultra Clamp Assembly:
I adapted this clamp to hold a Sony CLM-V55 monitor (also from B&H) to my tripod. The clamp is sturdy, easy to use and reliable to hold an expensive piece of equipment.I don't use the extension arm with it's ball head. The monitor I attach already has a pivot joint. The locking pin in the base of this clamp can be removed easily with a slotted screw driver so that the monitor's 1/4" screw fits flush with the clamp body.Have also used the full clamp assembly to add a second, lightweight, camera to a tripod leg. This camera shoots stills and standard video of the same scene that my HDV camcorder is recording atop the tripod. So I end up with the HDV "movie" and a record of where the scene was shot.Looking forward to using the clamp on a car window and also a bicycle handle bar.Anytime I'm without a tripod, this easily carried small clamp can be used as a substitute - attached to railing, poles, anything fixed and sturdy that is up to 1 and 5/8th inch (4.0 cm) width or diameter. As always, B&H - Great price,[...], the stuff I need.

Comments about Ultrapod Ultra Clamp Assembly:
I bought this while I was on vacation in New York City in the Superstore because I was looking for a good way to hold my flash to a railing for a venue I had to shoot. I was very happy with this purchase -- not only does it hold a flash, but it can hold my 7D with battery grip and a 85 f/1.8 in the vertical position. It is solidly built, and seems well thought out -- there is even a pin to hold the arm in the right orientation on the bracket. The only thing I could dislike about it is that it is hard to attach the camera to it quickly, as you have to spin the camera around it, or take the arm off and attach that [the arm to the camera] first. However, this is not really an issue, as you can just put a quick release plate on it if that really becomes bothersome. Personally, I have no issues with this product, and expect it to work well for quite a while.

This product was very useful in mounting a 7" LCD monitor to a DSLR shoulder rig. I was able to place the mount in various position. Only issue is there is a limited movement, so you have to choose where you place the mount carefully. It works with any product that has a 1/4 thread and is extremely handy.

I use it for onboard racecars and motorbikes action filming, with lightweight video heads. You can use it with or without attaching the clamp to the pod.
Indexed ajustment for both rotative base and first segment is great.
The ruber could be larger for more progressive tightening ...

It's become so hard to find the metal ROWI clamps...this is truly the next best thing. Though the product is made mostly of plastic, it holds up to the rigors of ENG production and the rubber cover on the clamp won't scratch podiums and conference room tables.

I've used this product for many years and have never been let down. It will clamp almost anywhere and once in place it stays in place. I have used it to photograph and film cockpit views of US Navy aircraft carrier catapult shots and it has worked every time.
