This Photoflex Speed Ring is a Series 9000 speed ring that allows mounting of a Photoflex or any other manufacturers' Octagonal or rectangular softbox to a Paul Buff White Lightning Ultra, Ultra Zap, Alien Bees, or X Series monolight. (Identical to Balcar adapter).
This is an aluminum, heat-resistant ring that allows any softbox to freely rotate. For larger softboxes, order: #ACALSWMTB, which helps to redistribute the weight from your fixture to the bracket.

The great thing about this is it can be mounted to light stand directly, which is preferable for me to mount my 7 foot Photoflex octabox.

Comments about Photoflex Speed Ring Octo Connector for Paul Buff Monolights:
Work well on my White Lightnings. Some cheaper speedrings tend to come loose or pop off of PCB lights; not these! Worth the money.

Comments about Photoflex Speed Ring Octo Connector for Paul Buff Monolights:
Works great, however it was covered with black powder/dirt and had to be cleaned before assembling. That way the powder/dirt didn't get on the white diffusion material on the softbox (from my hands).

Made with the simplicity of the Alien Bee products. The product itself is just another ring, but the DESIGN makes it simple to use. THumbs up.

I bought this to attach a Photoflex softbox to my White Lightning strobes, and it does the trick. I'm please with the build quality, and it's easy to use.
So glad I found one that fit - I'm enjoying having another softbox option!

I would highly recommend this to anyone who owns Paul Buff/White Lightning products for use with Photoflex softboxes. Works equally well with the standard rectangular softbox and the eight sided softbox.

Comments about Photoflex Speed Ring Octo Connector for Paul Buff Monolights:
We use it to attach our Photoflex softbox to our White Lightning 1200 monolight. It fits well and performs as designed. I wish the design had included better balancing, as the large Photoflex softbox is HEAVY and makes aiming this thing a two-handed wrestling match.
Other than that (which is just how it's designed), it works fine.
Comments about Photoflex Speed Ring Octo Connector for Paul Buff Monolights:
Have used this with Photoflex medium and small softboxes on my AlienBees AB400 and AB800. No problems.
