This is a Novatron V600D 600 watt/second power pack. The Heart of the Novatron system is the power supply. Its function is to take AC line power and store it in a bank of capacitors. This stored energy can be discharged quickly and intensely through one or more flash heads.
Novatron produces power supplies in five power ratings: 240, 400, 600, 1000, and 1500 w/s. The smaller power supplies have fewer capacitors and thus are lighter in weight and lower in cost than the more powerful ones.
- Power is infinitely variable over a 3 stop range.
- Low sync voltage is compatible with all digital and film cameras.

I have used the Novatron lighting system in my photo studio for many years. I also take the system with me on location as it packs down so fast and neatly into the big hard case. My old power pack finally gave out one day and I had to order a new one. [...] has been working like a dream ever since. The new power pack is about the same size and weight as the old one but looks more modern. It now has a very quiet fan motor running inside to keep the system cool. The new power pack recycles very quickly which is a great benefit when working on a session with children. Also the new dial makes the lighting adjustable when you want to turn down the lighting for all the flash heads at the same time for a shoot. Thanks again B&H!

Novatron power packs are the powerhouse units of the industry and this V600D is no exception. I replaced an older 440-VR with this pack and the upgrade has been perfect. Direct connect of my Nikon D2X to the sync (without a line filter) and infinitely variable power adjustments make this the most flexible pack I've used. My studio has very poor AC power supply (chronic low voltage) and this pack handles it without incident. With the new lower purchase price -- not buying this pack is the only mistake that you could make.
