Novatron V240D - 240 Watt/Second Power Pack
The Novatron V240D is Novatron's most popular power pack. It features 240 watt/seconds of infinitely variable power, plus an adjustment range of 2 f/stops, marked in 0.5 stop gradations. This extra adjustment feature is especially useful when using a digital camera.
The unit is small, economical, and best suited for passport and school photographers. This pack is also good for use as a power supply to a hair, or background light, when slaved to a larger system.

Lives up to the promise. Small, lightweight, works great with my Canon G10 (sync off the hot shoe) and Novatron flash heads. Perfect for those portable setups when you don't want to lug a ton of gear up the stairs. Make sure at least one of your flash heads is on full power, as the instructions state. Just used it once, so I can't speak to reliability. That's the only reason for the 4 star instead of 5.

I had a novatron light kit with 2 heads, 2 umbrellas, 2 tripods and the box, and they worked great, till the box quit. I didn't want to purchase everything all over again when I had almost everything I needed, so I purchased only the box and it works GREAT!!! My clients are happy so I am happy. Works best for small groups down to individual shots.

I am a professional photographer doing mostly location work and this unit in conjuntion with other 240 W/S packs are ideal for my needs for convience,portability,reliability and economy.
Especially for room sets, they are easy to hide, and for most uses have sufficient power for my digital work.My ability to work unassisted is enhanced using these units owing to easy portability.
