This is the Hensel Porty 1200B Battery Operated Strobe Kit. The 1200B power supply has symmetrical power distribution. The battery can be exchanged within seconds using the battery drawer with quick release and handle for easy pull-out. There is also an optional AC adapter which slides in and can be removed simply and quickly. This kit includes an 18 x 26" (45 x 65cm) softbox, a light stand, sync cord and soft kit case.
Power output is adjustable over a six f/stop range in 0.1 f/stop increments, adjusted by tapping or holding down the arrow buttons. The Porty features automatic power dump for power reduction without triggering the unit.
Batteries can be recharged with the multi-voltage quick charger within 2 hours. One full battery charge is good for 100 flashes @ full power. All connections and controls are sealed against dirt and water, making the durable Porty an ideal choice on a rainy day photo shoot.
The Porty Standard Head accepts all head accessories from the Hensel Studio Line. The Porty Head is equipped with an On-Off switch for the entire head, test button, 2 modeling light switches, one for continuous operation, one for auto-off timer (15 seconds)
Two sync sockets, standard phone jack and the sealed screw-in Hensel special sync socket are integrated in the head. A 15' sync cord is included. The user replaceable flash tube can be exchanged without removing the protective glass dome. Glass domes are available in different coatings to adjust color temperature and diffusion.
A universal heavy duty umbrella holder with a quick release feature accommodates up to a .5" shaft. Reflectors can be attached at any angle and locked into place with the snap of one lever. The new stand adapter allows tilting within 160°. The flash head handle can be rotated about 180° after removing the retaining screws.

Comments about Hensel Porty 1200B Battery Operated Kit:
The light from this portable device is stunning. Only negative is weight but I like the durability of the lead acid batteries as well as travel with these is much easier than Lithium devices.

Comments about Hensel Porty 1200B Battery Operated Kit:
I am using this unit for location shooting. The unit provides 1200 w/s which gives me the power to bring down background exposures outside and to set up a portable studio for events.
Pros:
I love the included case, the power unit is easier to carry then the larger porty power pack. The new head is smaller and easier to store and carry.
Cons:
Power distribution is symmetrical, so in order to control lighting ratios, I have to increase the distance for the additional head, which is counter intuitive for soft lighting in some cases. I solved this problem by purchasing a "backup" power pack that gives me security in case I have problems with my primary pack, and it gives me the flexibility to use it at a different power level for desired lighting ratios.
In summary:
It's not a unit that is as portable as Quantum or Norman, but it does have triple the power of those units when needed.
