The JX-5 is a 8V, 4.2A lightweight external battery pack designed to power Sony camcorders models available between 2000 and 2002. A heavy duty military belt clip is built-in to allow the JX-5 to be worn on the operators belt.
Key Features
Cell Chemistry
The JX-5 utilizes Starved Electrolyte, also known as Gel-Cell or Lead Acid.
Advantages: Low cost, high per cell voltage, no memory effect and good capacity life.
Disadvantages: Poor low temperature performance characteristics, relatively heavy, and cannot be left in a discharged state for too long without being damaged.
Output
The JX-5 utilized a built-in coiled cord with the same flat, rectangular connection found on camcorders such as the DCR-VX2000 and DSR-PD150.
