The Comprehensive 709 converts an S-Video input to a dual twisted pair connection; this conversion allows the signal to run along inexpensive cable a very long distance to a 710 receiver which converts back to S-Video.
- Twisted Pair
- This unit takes a Y/C signal and converts it to transmit via twisted pair lines; the advantages are less costly cabling and longer cable runs.
- Gain and EQ
- Gain and EQ adjustments are offered to optimize signal levels for the affective cable length.

Tried using passive a s-video balun set on a 300' cat5e run, but the signal didn't get through. Switched over to this Kramer product, and the signal came through clear and strong.
