Canon's series of image stabilized binoculars deliver outstanding optical performance and stabilization capabilities at a very affordable price. Whether upon the water's edge or high in the catacombs of a stadium, you'll get close and steady views of action with this 8x25 Canon offering. A textured rubber coating provides a sure grip as well as a bit of protection from the elements, while the center-mounted focus and stabilizer controls are easily accessible for both hands. These are streamlined in design, and about the same weight and size as a midsized 8x32 optic. There's a case included, but the recommended case is an extreme improvement.

Comments about Canon 8x25 IS Image Stabilized Binocular:
Very high quality image. Use of IS is a bit confounding at first as image shifts abruptly when IS is starting, but is very helpful once you learn to ignore this.

Comments about Canon 8x25 IS Image Stabilized Binocular:
These are great binoculars for use at concerts and general use. They also work well for bird watching in a backyard setting. Make sure you buy extra batteries, as they DO NOT LAST long. Online reports say 20 hours, but that's impossible. I'm using new surefire CR123 batteries. Real life use is more like 1, maybe 2 hours max. If you use these regularly, you should probably buy the CR123s from B&H, as they can cost a small fortune at a camera store. CR123s are $12 EACH at my local camera and drug store. Surefire cr123 batteries are $21 for 12 at B&H.

Comments about Canon 8x25 IS Image Stabilized Binocular:
Bought this for my wife as a holiday present, to watch wildlife in the back of our yard, and have been using it myself as well. A red fox was easy to spot with the naked eye but bringing it up close was cool, sharp. The Image Stabilizer did a ton of good for me (apparently I have shaky hands). The blue jay was hiding in the scrubs, I only found it when searching the perimiter.

Used when doing helicopter work, so image stabilization is a prerequisite. Canon makes the best, so whether you're in a helicopter or a vehicle using binoculars, this is the one to buy!

Comments about Canon 8x25 IS Image Stabilized Binocular:
With my old binoculars I didn't know what I was missing. With these, when I use stabilization, I can see the branches of trees wavering in the breeze. Today I was able to follow a pair of humming birds feed from flower to flower out my window. The eye adjustment takes some getting used to.

Comments about Canon 8x25 IS Image Stabilized Binocular:
I use these binoculars primarily at the opera. Even in very dark scenes, I could see the singers very clearly and brightly. The image stabilizing feature is amazing - I could watch the orchestra members play with no shaking and "lock in" on particular singers with ease. The best binoculars I've ever used. And they're small and light enough to slip into my purse.

Comments about Canon 8x25 IS Image Stabilized Binocular:
Any one who has used binoculars will be familiar with the shaky view when looking through them It's often quite hard on ones eyes and makes it difficult to see anything in great detail. The stabilisation and great magnification make for wonderfully smooth viewing at both day and night. Absolutely excellent. They're not small but they are quite light and not too bulky.
Comments about Canon 8x25 IS Image Stabilized Binocular:
Buy one.I've had mine for two years now and it solved all my problems with viewing from a small plane, underway in a boat or car, panning a landscape, and looking from ground at aircraft (or even stars). All the long range vibrations are gone so that now you can see distant objects with the same clarity are close range. An example: you don't need them for birds at 20 ft, but at 50+ ft I can tell the bird while unstablized cannot. Prince William Sound fishing in Alaska, Whales in Hawaii, birding in NM Refuse,...all great. Optics alone are as good as it gets. Raise the 8, 10, 12X...power to what you think you need and then minimize the power to reduce the wt. as much as acceptable for where you use them. The batteries do last long enough, but take along a spare because you'll dislike the difference. I liked them so much that I even brought a pair for my brother-in-law - that has essential tremors - and his problems just went away.
Expertise: Many years out there.
Items I Recommend: extra battery
